Public Transport Directions
There is a bus service (Tyrers Mini Bus) that runs through Newburgh and you can get to a few locations (Ormskirk, Southport, Chorley etc) the bus stop is situated outside the Red Lion Pub in Newburgh about 10 minute walk from the holiday cottage, there is also a Train Station at Parbold 5 minutes drive away which is the National Railway, which can take you to a number of places, Manchester, Southport, Liverpool etc.Road Directions
From a southerly direction, take the M6 to junction 27 and then take the A5029 Wigan/Parbold and follow it straight through to Newburgh, going past the Red Lion Pub on your right down to the mini roundabout go straight across the post office & tea rooms will be on your right also, then just keep straight on the road you will come to another mini roundabout straight across there then take the next right turn which will be Back Lane and you will see the signs for the holiday cottage.» Read More

Welcome to Forest View Holiday Park
Our elegant purpose built 4 star self catering accommodation comfortably sleeps eight people and is nestled in the picturesque village of Newburgh, renowned for its beautiful scenery, local amenities, countryside pursuits and effortless access to neighbouring towns and cities of interest.
The accommodation comprises of large, well lit entrance hallway leading to spacious dining area and lounge with one luxurious king sized double room with en-suite and one well appointed twin room to the ground floor. In addition, there is an airy and modern fully serviced open plan kitchen and utility room with full laundry facilities (washing machine, ironing board, iron and airer). There are two additional king sized bedrooms and a main shower room to the first floor. Each of the rooms has been individually designed and themed with every attention to luxury, comfort and detail throughout the holiday home. It is fully central heatedt. Bed linen, towels, electricity and heating are included in the price. Freeview satellite TV, DVD player and Wi-Fi internet are also included too.
The ground floor of the home is accessible to wheelchair users and guests are welcome to inspect the property to assess suitability to their personal needs prior to booking.
The property has its own spacious car parking facility.
The charming Victorian seaside town Southport, is 25 minutes drive away, there you'll find old shopping arcades, antique shops, good restaurants and great fish and chips and don't forget the famous flower show held in August and the Air Show usually in September. Also just down the road is Birkdale famous for the Royal Birkdale Golf Course.
There is also the ancient market town of Ormskirk a 10 minute drive away were the markets are held every Thursday and Saturday in the town centre.
There are a few local villages close by - Parbold, Burscough, Rufford and Mawdesley, a 5-10 minute drive away that are worth a visit, Burscough has Martin Mere Wildfowl and Wetlands Centre were you can bird watch and see many rare birds as they flock in. Also there is the Wharf that has a few shops, tea rooms and restaurants. Rufford is known for the Old Hall which is owned by the National Trust, Mawdesley has Cedar Farm which has contempory crafts, unique shops, a lively café, farm animals and a funky playground.
Cyclists and walkers can enjoy the towpath of the Leeds-Liverpool canal that is just round the corner.
If you love to eat out there are many nice places to go that are not far away, there is the Red Lion at Newburgh that focuses on british classics, and you can then wash it down with a pint of quality real ale from a choice of brewers, Briars Hall at Burscough, Wayfarers at Parbold, Miller and Carter on top of Parbold Hill, Hop and Vine at Burscough and many more.
